BiblioFlowv0.1.0

Open source · Self-hosted · Docker

Own Your Papers.
Accelerate Your Research with AI.

Go beyond Zotero + WebDAV. A paper manager and multimodal RAG platform that runs entirely in Docker, on your own hardware.

Quick start
$ curl -sSL https://biblioflow.pathvector.dev/install.sh | bash

BiblioFlow /ˈbɪbli.oʊ floʊ/

Biblio (literature) + Flow (the flow of knowledge). The name stands for the whole pipeline: automatic collection, RAG search, and note export.

BiblioFlow ビブリオフロー

文献(Biblio)+ 知識のフロー(Flow)。自動収集からRAG検索、ノート出力までをひとつのパイプラインとして扱います。

Why BiblioFlow?

Your library, readable by you and by your AI.

Transparent Storage

No more cryptic folder names. Every PDF lives at a path you can read and open straight from the host.

Multimodal AI & Grounding

Drag-select a figure, table, or equation and a Vision LLM explains it. Every answer cites its source. Click a citation to jump to that page.

Hybrid RAG Across Library

pgvector + BM25 search every paper you have saved, then build comparison tables of methods automatically.

Cloudflare Tunnel Ready

No open ports. One command gives you secure access from your lab, home, or a café.

$ docker compose --profile cloudflare up -d

Architecture

One docker compose. Nothing leaves your box.

Everything runs as containers on a machine you own. The tunnel is optional, and your PDFs stay as regular files you can back up with any tool.

  1. Browser

    Reader UI, anywhere

  2. Cloudflare Tunnel

    Outbound only, no open ports

  3. BiblioFlow app

    API, ingest workers, RAG

  • Postgres + pgvector

    Metadata, chunks, embeddings, BM25

  • Host filesystem

    Plain PDFs at readable paths

  • LLM provider

    Local or API. Bring your own key

Cloudflare Setup

From zero to remote access in three commands.

Pair BiblioFlow with Cloudflare Access to add SSO in front of your library at no cost.

  1. 1

    Install

    Clones BiblioFlow into ~/biblioflow, generates secrets in .env, then builds and starts the stack.

    step 1
    $ curl -sSL https://biblioflow.pathvector.dev/install.sh | bash
  2. 2

    Add your tunnel token

    In Cloudflare Zero Trust, create a tunnel that routes your hostname to http://biblioflow-frontend:3000. Paste the token into .env and add https://<your-host> to CORS_ALLOWED_ORIGINS.

    step 2
    $ echo "CLOUDFLARE_TUNNEL_TOKEN=<your-token>" >> ~/biblioflow/.env
  3. 3

    Start with the cloudflare profile

    cloudflared joins the stack and connects outbound. Your router needs no port forwarding.

    step 3
    $ cd ~/biblioflow && docker compose --profile cloudflare up -d
